Patricia A Schreck age 90 formerly of Bassett, WI died May 20, 2025. She was born in Fort Smith, AR on September 11, 1934. The daughter of Robert and Blanche (Chapman) Wilburn and stepdaughter of Raymond Laidlaw. She met Don Schreck in high school, and they married on November 25, 1960.
During her life, Pat was a stay-at-home mom for her 3 kids. She volunteered to be room mother for at least one, if not all 3, every year. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, helping with the program even after her daughters were grown. She was a band booster and president of the boosters for the Wilmot HS band.
Pat worked as a postal clerk at the Powers Lake and Kansas Ville Post Office, working Saturday mornings until her kids graduated from HS. She then pursued her career as Postmaster, retiring in 1988. Pat and Don Co-owned Towne and Country Lanes in Burlington.
After they retired, they moved to Mountain, WI where she volunteered at the Doty Fire Department and the local thrift shop. She was a member of the book, quilt, card, red hat and purple dress clubs. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and visiting with her family and friends.
She was a loving mother to Sue (Ron) Pedersen, Dale Schreck, and Luanne Trakas. Grandmother to Jamie (Jamey) Caldwell, Tony (late Dawn) Trakas, and Tim (Nicole) Trakas. Great Grandmother to Avery Caldwell, Tyler Trakas, Zachary Trakas, Alyssa Trakas and Ella Trakas. Sister to late Marianne Laidlaw and Sister-in-Law to Allen (late Jean) Schreck, Lou (late Carolyn) Miller and Barry and Jackie Schreck.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday May 30, 2025, at 1:30PM at St. John’s Cemetery in Randal, WI. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home of Twin Lakes, WI is honored to serve the Schreck family.
