David Vorhes, 77, of Kenosha passed away on May 18, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center of Kenosha surrounded by his loving family.
David was born on September 15, 1947, in Davenport, IA, the son of the late Arthur and Martha (Foote) Vorhes. He was educated in the schools of Jacksonville, IL. David married Barbara Suber on October 19, 1968, in Milwaukee. He was an Eagle Scout of Troop #107 Jacksonville, IL, He worked as a union electrician for many years. David served in the United States Navy 1966-1973 on board the USS Springfield CLG7. His hobbies included cross stitching, was an avid reader, former member of Kenosha Garden Railroad Society, past member of Kenosha Moose Lodge #286, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Vorhes of Kenosha; children, Dawn (Chano) Perez of Kenosha, Deanna (Justin Klinkhammer) Vorhes of Racine, Sara (Jason) Cusimano of Bristol; sister, Marcia (Scott) Burns of IL, Laura (Late Richard) Vorhes of IL; also his grandchildren Zakkary (Haley) Perez, Tyler Perez, Samantha Vorhes, Brett Perez, Alexandra Cusimano, Nicholas (Corin) Chovan and 6 great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Daniel Chovan, Kennedy and Aria Perez, Santiago Perez. Also included are many nieces, nephews, family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Gerald and Gloria Suber; brother, Richard and his grandson, Giavanni.
A memorial gathering will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10:00AM-12:00PM with a graveside service to follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery starting at 2:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be greatly appreciated.
