Dolores R. “Lorie” Stepler, 70, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born September 14, 1954, in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Edward and Dolores (Miller) Wisilinski.
While tending bar at a bowling alley, she met and married the love of her life, Dan, in January 1981. Together they built a beautiful life with three wonderful children. Blessed with an idyllic marriage, Dan and Lorie adored each other for 40 years before Dan’s passing in 2020.
Lorie enjoyed taking trips to the casino and playing bingo at the Moose and Roma Lodge. She was known to host impromptu poker nights with family, friends and tons of food. Lorie also enjoyed cooking shows and game shows. She was a great cook, often finding new recipes to try. Her mac and cheese will forever be a favorite. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a special love for her four-legged grandpups too.
Survivors include her children, Kristina (Eric) Legler, Daniel (Robyn) Stepler Jr., and Heather (Jeremy) Street; grandchildren, James, Caden, Daniel III, Adrian, Thomas, Emmitt, and Caleb; a sister, Eileen (Randy) Urbik; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorie was preceded in death by siblings, Edward Wisilinski Jr and Eleanor Wisilinski.
Lorie’s family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Hospice Alliance, and the loving family members who cared for her.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home with a funeral service commencing at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in her memory.
