Julie Dee Schmitt, 57, of Salem, passed away peacefully Monday, January 23, 2023 at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Medical Center due to complications from a heart attack.
She was born on March 2, 1965 to Paul M. and Barbara J. (West) Schmitt in Waukegan, IL.
Julie was a caregiver and a freelance massage therapist for many years. She graduated from Central High in Paddock Lake and continued on to graduate from the Massage School of Therapy.
Julie attended Westosha Lakes Church in Paddock Lake.
Julie loved animals, especially cats and tigers, she enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Jamaica and Hawaii, playing volleyball, watching the Chicago Bears and loved her children.
Julie is survived by her daughter Jana Schmitt and her son Randy Schmitt, her mother Barbara Schmitt, her brothers James Dean (Kim) Schmitt and Cecil Lee Schmitt, her niece Angela (Jacob) Flores and their children Skylee, Kaylen and Abigail, her aunt Susan Silva and her uncle Donald West. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, niece Kristina and great niece Breeanna.
A Celebration of Life for Julie will be held on Saturday, February 4th at 2pm at Westosha Lakes Church in Paddock Lake at 24823-74th St. Salem WI 53168.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you donate to your local Animal Humane society where she rescued all the beloved kittens she had throughout her life or directly to the church.
