Lorraine Yvonne Karpen 95 years of age, resident of Archwood Senior Living in Salem Lakes Wisconsin went to be with her Lord on April 24, 2022. Ms. Karpen is survived by her nieces Jamie Zubak (Jack), Judy Sitaras (Gus), Jacqueline Lang (Louis), Janet Scholz (Robert), Claudia Ward (Paul), Nadine May, Sharon Owens, and nephews Darryl Owens (Kathy), James Law III and many great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great-nieces and nephews.
Ms. Karpen is preceded in death by her parents Chester and Helen Karpinski (Nijakowski) and siblings Dorothy Owens, Adeline Ostrowski, Chester Karpinski Jr., Geraldine Law, and nephew Gregory Karpinski.
In life, she was a professional woman who retired from United Airlines as an accountant. In the late 1950s, she was considered a jet-setter who had the opportunity to travel around the world when it was a rarity to do so. Retirement did not slow her down. She was devout in her religion, was a member of United Airlines Retirees, pursued painting, knitting, calligraphy, and caring for her great-nieces and nephew. She continued air travel and cruises around the continental United States until she could no longer travel.
Memorial Service for Lorraine Karpen will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday May 28, 2022 at St. Peter Church 557 Lake Street in Antioch IL.
