Mary Evelyn Sosbe, 78, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Caledonia, MS, she was the daughter of the late James and Alice (White) Gilliam. One of 11 children, she got to experience motherhood twice: once with her siblings and once again with her children.
Mary was employed as an LPN at Kenosha Hospital for over 20 years and cared for her patients. She loved spending time at her cabin in Amherst where she enjoyed nature, cardinals, and fishing with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, William H. Sosbe, Judith Mae Sosbe, Janet Renee Ladurini, and Janell Fae Sosbe; six grandchildren, Ashley (Neil), Christopher, Brandon, Sarah, Kianna, Daniel, and Sophia; a great-granddaughter, Ellie; and eight siblings, Bobby, Ed, LeRoy, BJ, Shiela, David, Wanda, and Donald.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Demonte; and two siblings, Jim and Debbie.
Services will be held privately. She well be laid to rest at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
