Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services, Inc. (KAFASI) is inviting community members to step up as champions for local seniors during March for Meals, March 23–27, 2026, part of the national Meals on Wheels campaign to raise awareness about senior hunger and isolation.

With demand rising across Kenosha County, KAFASI is calling on volunteersdonors, and advocates to help ensure that no older adult is left waiting for nutritious meals and meaningful human connection.

Across the country, more than 13 million seniors struggle with hunger, and thousands are currently waiting for Meals on Wheels services due to rising costs and limited resources. During this year’s campaign, themed #CommunityChampionsWeek, KAFASI is joining organizations nationwide to help #EndTheWait.

“Hunger and isolation should never be part of aging,” said Shebaniah Judah, Executive Director. “Our community has the power to ensure every senior receives the meals and connection they deserve.”

In Kenosha County alone, the need continues to grow:

  • 25% increase in demand for Meals on Wheels over the past year
  • 91,527 meals served last year
  • 84% of clients live below the poverty line

Throughout the week, local leaders will join KAFASI to kick off daily meal deliveries and highlight the importance of community support:

“Your time and generosity make a real difference,” Judah said. “Together we can ensure that no senior in Kenosha County goes hungry or feels alone.”
