High school seniors in Racine and Kenosha have the opportunity to receive free, hands-on assistance applying for Mahone Foundation Career Exploration Organization (CEO) scholarships February 11th and 21st.
The Mahone Foundation Scholarship Application Workshop in Racine is Wednesday, Feb. 11th, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Bray Center YMCA, 924 Center St.
The Kenosha workshop is Saturday, Feb. 21st, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy, 2222 63rd St.
Students from either city can attend whichever workshop is most convenient. Each family-friendly workshop includes a scholarship overview followed by hands-on scholarship application labs. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop computers. A limited number of laptops will be available at each workshop.
“Scholarships are money,” said Mahone Foundation Chairman Tim Mahone. “These workshops are designed to help students not only find that money but improve their chances of earning the scholarship. My parents, Mary Lou and Arthur Mahone, had a vision of making education more accessible by reducing financial barriers for students and their families. Mahone Foundation Career Exploration Organization (CEO) scholarships help create more access to education.”
