About Run-Da-Ko-Ta 5k

The Run-Da-Ko-Ta 5k (R5K) is a fundraiser for the 2025 Friends of Scouting Campaign. Scouting America is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that relies on donors for funding. The generous donors who support are affectionately referred to as Friends of Scouting, or FOS. Each calendar year has its own FOS Campaign, but the goal of each campaign is always the same: to provide quality outdoor programming for youth in the greater Milwaukee area. Funds raised through FOS support camp and building maintenance, recruiting materials for our units, training resources for adult volunteers, and much more.

The R5k’s objective is to raise money for year-round programming, while encouraging both youth and adults to enjoy the outdoors and remain active. The run/walk event will take place on Saturday, October 25th, and starts at 9:00 AM. A brief ceremony will be held following the race to award first, second, and third places in the youth and adult categories. The most exciting aspect of the race is its location. The R5k will be held at our camp, Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta, in Burlington, WI. Attendees will be enjoying the views of crystal-clear Dyer Lake, towering Pine trees, and sprawling wetlands that make up Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta on their route.
