The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting residents of Kenosha & Racine Counties to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on September 27, 2025, at Pennoyer Park Bandshell in Kenosha. The event opens at 8:30 a.m. with the Opening Ceremony at 9:40 a.m., immediately followed by the Walk at 10:00 a.m.
The Alzheimer’s Association sincerely thanks this year’s Walk leaders, Jan Cain, Senior Branch Office Administrator and Regional Coordinator for Edward Jones, and Yvette Lamphier, Sales Manager at Sinceri Senior Living, whose tireless dedication helps unite our community in the fight to end Alzheimer’s and makes this event possible for so many local families.
“The Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings us together as neighbors, colleagues, and friends. I’m grateful to be part of an event that unites our community in support, hope, and encouragement for everyone affected by Alzheimer’s,” said Jan Cain, Senior Branch Office Administrator and Regional Coordinator for Edward Jones.
Aaron Sims, play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Admirals and member of the Sportscasters Against Alzheimer’s initiative, will emcee the program, guiding participants through the day’s festivities and announcements. The walk features the inspiring Promise Garden Ceremony, where participants carry colorful flowers, each representing a personal connection to the disease.
More than 7 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, one of the nation’s leading causes of death. Over 11 million family members and friends provide unpaid care for those affected. In Wisconsin, more than 110,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s, and tens of thousands of caregivers are supporting them every day. In Kenosha and Racine Counties alone, over 7,744 residents age 65 and older are living with dementia.
Exciting progress in both treatments and early detection has brought new hope to millions of families. Breakthroughs in medical science, fueled by decades of research, advocacy, and community support, are helping people receive answers sooner and benefit from new ways to slow the progression of the disease. These advances strengthen our determination to keep moving forward toward a world without dementia.
This year, the Alzheimer’s Association proudly welcomes Bill Schroeder, former Milwaukee Brewers player and longtime television color commentator, as the Honorary Statewide Chair for all 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in Wisconsin.
