Award-Winning Pastry Chef Justin Burke to Infuse Kenosha with Sweet Inspiration

Prepare for an evening of delectable delights as Blue House Books proudly presents award-winning pastry chef Justin Burke on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. A celebrated food writer, recipe developer, and fervent advocate for queer representation in the culinary world, Burke will engage in a conversation with James Schend, former Taste of Home editor, exploring the delectable contents of his new book, Potluck Desserts.

Potluck Desserts is described as a heartfelt ode to the joy and connection found in sharing food. Within its pages, you’ll discover tempting treats like Lemon-Thyme Bars, Hummingbird Blondies, Snickerdoodle Peach Cobbler, and Cranberry-Orange Fluff Salad.

To fully embrace the communal spirit, attendees are invited to prepare one of Burke’s featured desserts and contribute it to a shared table, embodying the very essence of a potluck gathering.

“This is such a great opportunity to try a few of these joyful recipes made by fellow attendees in the true spirit of a potluck, along with what promises to be a fun discussion with Justin and James,” said Melissa, bookseller at Blue House Books.

Tickets are required and available through the Blue House Books website, where you can also find the dessert sign-up form: https://blue-house-books.com/events/3232020250923.

Seize this opportunity to immerse yourself in delightful desserts and captivating conversation! Whether you’re baking for family, friends, or your chosen crew, Potluck Desserts will have everyone asking for seconds. But be warned – you’ll never be allowed at another family event empty-handed again!
