City of Kenosha presents National Night Out at Petzke Park

Everyone is invited to enjoy an evening of free entertainment and a picnic dinner at the city’s National Night Out community festival from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Petzke Park, 2820 14th Ave.

More than 25 schools and nonprofit groups participating in the event will give out information and promotional items. Look for the Kenosha Public Library’s mobile unit and sign up for a free library card.

Free hot dogs, chips, and soda will be available for those attending, and the Kenosha Water Utility’s Traveling Tap will be on hand with fresh, cold water.

Enjoy family-friendly music from Midwest DJ Productions and be sure to check out the Kenosha Police Department K-9 unit demonstration. Kids can enter a drawing to win a bike. Two girls’ bikes and two boys’ bikes were donated by Kenosha County Circuit Court judges Jason Rossell, Heather Iverson, Chad Kerkman, and Angelina Gabriele. Free tickets for the drawing will be available from volunteers at the park pavilion food area.

Kenosha Police Chief Patrick Patton stated, “National Night Out is a fun opportunity for community and police to come together to foster trust, understanding, and collaboration. It is a welcoming event that reminds us that we are all partners in creating a safer Kenosha.”

National Night Out is an annual event aimed at promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities nationwide.

Other National Night Out events in the city of Kenosha will take place on August 5 at: Curtis Strange Elementary School, First United Methodist Church, the Shalom Center, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and the Salvation Army.
