Johnson Financial Group Announces Leadership Change

Racine/Kenosha, Wisconsin. May 15, 2025. Johnson Financial Group recently announced a leadership change in southeast Wisconsin when longtime veteran banker and Regional President, Karla Krehbiel, announced her plans to retire later this year after more than 40 years in the banking industry and nearly 20 years with Johnson Financial Group. Thomas (Tom) Moore has been named incoming Regional President and is set to succeed Krehbiel in September of this year.

Krehbiel joined JFG in 2007 and was named Regional President for the Southeast region in 2016. “Karla has been a cornerstone leader in the financial services industry for over four decades and a pillar in the Kenosha and Racine communities,” said Dan Defnet, President of Johnson Bank Wisconsin. “Her dedication and leadership have left an incredible mark on our organization and the community at large.”

Krehbiel was recently named Business Leader of the Year by Kenosha Area Business Alliance (KABA), received the Susan B. Anthony Women of Influence Award and was honored in 2020 by the Biz Times Milwaukee as a Notable Women in Commercial Banking. An active member of the community, Karla is on the Board of Directors for Kenosha County Food Bank, a Board Member for Racine County Economic Development Corporation, on the Leadership Table for Building Our Future and the Committee Chair of the Carthage College Business and Professional Coalition Steering Committee.

Karla also served in previous roles on the Kenosha Area Business Alliance (Past President), the University of Wisconsin — Parkside Foundation Board and the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce (Past President). She has also been involved with several community organizations, including the Racine Area Chamber of Commerce, the Kenosha Achievement Center, Downtown Racine Corporation, Racine/Kenosha Community Action Agency and the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast.

“To ensure a seamless transition, we are also pleased to appoint Tom Moore as incoming Regional President for this critical region,” said Defnet. Moore joined Johnson Financial Group in 2008 with extensive experience in commercial banking and has served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking since 2016. “With more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, Tom has built strong relationships throughout his career and is the best leader to assume responsibility for the growth of JFG’s Southeastern market,” added Defnet.

An active member of the community, Moore currently serves on the Board of Directors for Kenosha Area Business Alliance, on the Leadership Table for Higher Expectations and as a committee member of Business Lending Partners, a division of Racine County Economic Development Corporation.
