Cashmore Named Lender of the Year by Racine County Economic Development

RACINE – Community State Bank’s Jay Cashmore was named Lender of the Year at the 42nd annual Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC) Celebration on Thursday (May 8) at Festival Hall.

The award is presented each year to the lender that worked with RCEDC on the most loans in the highest amounts.

In his 33rd year of banking, Cashmore is CSB’s VP | Market President in Waterford.

“Jay has become a great resource for our clients in the Waterford area,” said Robert Pieroni, CSB EVP | Chief Lending Officer & Market President in Kenosha County. “He knows how to build relationships and help local businesses grow with a personal touch.”

The annual event recognizes local leaders, celebrates business growth and reflects on RCEDC’s 42 years of contributions to Racine County development.

Todd Battle of Zilber Property Group and Amanda Scholl of Saputo Cheese USA were presented with the Business Development Project of the Year and Mark McCleary of SCORE Mentors Southeast Wisconsin was named the Sam Johnson Volunteer of the Year.

Cashmore has more than three decades of experience in commercial lending, loan origination, mortgage lending and cash management.
In 2023, Cashmore was named Market President in Waterford. He’s secured three Small Business Loans (SBA) in the past 18 months.

“I want to thank Wes Walsh and Diane Albrecht of Business Lending Partners for their help in educating the borrowers and getting the deals across the finish line,” Cashmore said. “I’d also like to thank everyone at Community State Bank for their dedication to fostering growth in Racine County.”

Cashmore wrapped up his acceptance speech with one final thank you, a heartfelt shoutout to his wife, Heather.

“Thank you to my wife for putting up with me and always supporting me,” Cashmore said.

The night wrapped up with a keynote presentation from James Robilotta, a leadership author, motivational speaker and improv comedian who is passionate about bringing humanity and connection back into the workplace.

RCEDC is responsible for administering 11 Revolving Loan Funds (RLFs), the Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 loan program and three matching grant programs.

“As a commercial lender, I love helping my customers with these resources,” said Pieroni, RCEDC Loan Committee Chair.
