Kenosha boxer Natalia Tovar heads to Olympic youth camp after winning nationals

As the National Boxing Champion, Natalia Tovar’s next step is to attend the High Performance Youth selection camp in Chula Vista, CA.

Winning the championship last December presents opportunities to become a member of the World Team, and hopefully in the future, the USA Team.

Natalia is a junior at St. Joseph Catholic Academy and competition is not something new to her. As the only girl on the boys wrestling team, she also finished with three wins out of five matches. “I enjoyed wrestling but boxing is my favorite”. That’s something her parents, Carlos and Martha, are enjoying since her Dad is also her coach. Carlos also happens to be Kenoshan Ben Rothwell’s coach for his bout in Los Angeles Saturday.
