Sister Act

On this date, one Harmeyer sister recorded a first and the other helped make history in the Belmont women’s basketball team’s 97-39 win over Trevecca in Nashville, Tenn.

Ellie Harmeyer (No. 30) celebrated her first career start with a double-double. The forward from Shoreland Lutheran scored 11 points with 10 rebounds and five assists in the first of her 73 starts for the Bruins.

Older sister Hannah (No. 34), also a Shoreland graduate, drained Belmont’s program-record 18th 3-pointer of the game as part of a 25-point outburst in the fourth quarter. The basket was the seventh consecutive make of her Belmont career.

Ellie Harmeyer graduated from Shoreland as Kenosha County’s all-time leading scorer in girls basketball. She finished her career seventh in Belmont history with 1,610 points. … Hannah Harmeyer played at Belmont from 2015 to 2019.
